Natural Constipation Remedies for infants

Foods High In FiberAdding fiber to your babys diet is another one of the natural constipation remedies you can follow. Its a known fact that sufficient fiber aids in disposal of waste so substitute certain foods with ones that have high fiber content.

Babies are a bundle of joy and can put a smile on anyones face. But their health and comfort require constant monitoring as they are very susceptible to illness and diseases. Normally, babies are fed formulas, breast milk and infant food to sustain them. This is later substituted with natural foods prepared by mothers or guardians. While this shift in diet is necessary to get them accustomed to real food, their systems can find the initial adjustment difficult. This leads to constipation caused by undigested food. Natural constipation remedies can work wonders to relieve their discomfort and in this article, we will look at some of the ways mothers can ease their infants digestive troubles.

For babies younger than four months, mothers can prepare a solution of diluted fruit juice made out of prune, grape and apple mixed with prune. This can be combined with a few exercises. Discomfort associated with undigested food can be relieved with a gentle tummy massage, following a warm bath. Experts are of the view that a warm bath helps babies relax and in turn fuels digestion. Bicycle legs is a practice where a babys legs are gently held and rotated similar to like a bicyclists motion. This is also thought to relieve gas and can be alternated with tummy massages. When massaging, make sure that your touch is firm but gentle. Rub the area near the navel in a clockwise motion, moving out and away from the navel.

Adding fiber to your babys diet is another one of the natural constipation remedies you can follow. Its a known fact that sufficient fiber aids in disposal of waste so substitute certain foods with ones that have high fiber content. Strain foods like peaches, plums, spinach, peas and apricots to relieve constipation. Unless your baby is a little older, refrain from feeding him items like rice, toast, bananas and applesauce.

Before applying these natural constipation remedies to ease your babys discomfort, speak to your doctor as not all may work for your child and some may even compound the problem. And while there are medicines that claim to be able to combat constipation troubles in infants, know that natural remedies are always safer.

Severe stomach aches, blood in stool..?
Hi, For the last week my girlfriend has been complaining of really bad stomach aches, she also got her period during this time which didn't help. For a few days she was suffering from diarreah so she took some immodium to treat it. Her stomach aches came and gone, but she has started noticing blood in the toilet bowl, when she has been sitting on the toilet. I am really worried that she may have bowel cancer! She is only 21, and is pretty healthy, but her Dad passed away at 42 with lung cancer, and 2 of her grandparents both died of cancer as well. She went to the doctor and he seemed worried when she told him about the blood in the toilet, but then she told him about the immodium and she told the doctor she thinks it might just be hemorrhoids and he agreed. But there are no lumps around the rectum and it is mostly stomach pains so could this be hermorrhoids or something else like bowel cancer? Also the doctor told her not to eat foods high in fibre which I find very, very strange. Shouldn't you be eating foods high in fibre if you have internal hemorrhoids? Any help and advice would be very appreciated!! Thanks for taking the time to reply. The blood is red and is in clumps. She very rarely drinks alcohol, so it could theres no way that could be a cause. The reason I think it might be internal hermorrhoids is she has been straining alot when going to the toilet due to the imodium. But the severe stomach aches makes me feel it could be more serious..

Belly fat and crohn's disease help?
So I've been looking online for some foods that will help me out. I'm 18 years old, 5'0 and weigh 132 lbs. I have been plateuing at this weight ever since my latest flare up last year where I lost about 20 lbs and gained 10 back while on prednisone. I am really unhappy with this weight because most of it is gathering in my stomach, making me feel fat and bloated. I try to go to the gym and do excersize but I am easily worn out and tired. I try to do 20 minute cardio but running is impossible and I have to use elipictical. I also try to go 4 times a week but I am a busy college student. It is also really difficult to maintain a healthy diet. I am on the meal plan here and they do not really offer a good amount of healthy food, that is also tasty, and also does not irritate my stomach. It is almost impossible to find such a combination here and I cannot afford to buy food outside of my 3,000$ a semester meal plan. I have a large appetite and i am very fatigued as well, so neglecting to eat food in order to maintain a low calorie intake to lose weight never has worked. I am looking for the best way to lose this stubborn belly fat, while also not irritating my condition. I have heard coffee and ciggarettes curve appetite, and I have been drinking coffee almost every day and smoking ciggarettes. However, the ciggarettes are starting to make me feel a lot worse in many different ways (from lungs, to chest, to throat, to stomach) and making excersize harder, although I do enjoy how they boost my happiness level, lower stress, increase light-headedness, etc. I feel like I will eliminate ciggarettes easily as I am not addicted and I am feeling bad because of them, but I may have one on occasion, maybe 2 a month max. I also try to maintain a good sleeping schedule but it is not working out so well. I neglect to take vitamins and iron every day as I am supposed to, and i am not really sure why. I really love eating oranges and pineapple, but they don't always have pineapple in the dining hall here and when they do i stock up on it. I also do eat a lot of processed foods. It is all that there is here. I am surrounded my vending machienes, cravings, etc. I find that smoking marijuana at night helps relax me and keeps any irritation in my stomach at temporary bay, but it also makes me eat a large amount of processed foods. I also really love to eat pretzels, the cookies there are availible here. My favorite lunch is a grilled rye sandwhich with roast beef and salami, lettuce and mayo but it irrates my stomach now. What is a really healthy sandwhich I can eat every day? Every place I go online tells me to eliminate all these foods but i cannot possibly do that. There is a sandwhich station at the school and sandwhiches are the easiest and most reliable food here, as other food changes daily. I try to eat a lot of oranges and bananas and pineapples, occasionally having an apple. I am so conflicted between three goals, looking good (losing belly fat), enjoying my recession (eating food that I think tastes good, that I havent been able to eat in the past), and not progressing into a flareup (avoiding food that is supposed to be really good for you, but hurts your intestine, like food high in fiber like cereals which i love, dairy, raw fruits and vegetables, everything....) While also maintaining a good nutrient balance so i have the energy to get me going through the day. I also avoid alcohol as much as possible, as my liver is debilitated from taking lots of prednisone, and I easily feel sick and black out. It also does not aid the belly fat situation. I do drink on occasion, but I drank much more at the beginning of my semester, stopped around november. So I think I have given enough details to fill you in on my lifestyle. I am looking for something routine that is easy to follow eating the foods that are availible here. I will take your suggestions and see if they are able to be done with this meal plan. I also do not think I drink enough water, and I am wondering if increasing my water intake will do good? Any suggestions and advice are greatly appreciated. Started smoking about 2 months ago. Ive had crohns for about 10 years. :)
