Looking for an acid reflux solution, need help!! Is Enfamil Gentlease good to try?
My son is 10 weeks old. He is bottle fed from birth. He has extremely sensitive skin. He has problems with gas and stomach cramping as well as bad acid reflux. He spits up a lot and vomits a lot as well. His doctor prescribed him Zantac but since he has the sensitive skin, he broke out in an immediate diaper rash so we took him off of it. She recommended Enfamil AR. I read the reviews and didn't like what I saw. It says it causes tummy aches, constipation, thickening of the formula for obvious reasons but with the downside that if he does spit up he could choke on it easier and that it is mostly for spit up, not necessarily Acid reflux. I read on another forum that someone used Enfamil Gentlease for all the same symptoms he has (gas, reflux, colic, and so on) and that they had success with it. Is there anyone else who has had the same great result when using it? Since he cant take any reflux medication because of his skin, I need something that wont cause more tummy aches then he already has, that wont cause constipation, and that will help with his reflux. Putting him down at night scares me to death since I never know if he is going to vomit and choke without us knowing it if we are asleep and if he will be able to get it out of his mouth to cry and let us know. I should also mention he does sleep on a wedge as well. When he does vomit at night, we have been fortunate to be awake or nearby to know he is doing it but otherwise, he is very quiet when he vomits so I fear i wont hear him and something bad could happen.
